Thoughts that just come to me...
What articles make you want to reply in the forums?

What articles make you want to post in the forums? What types of articles are you most likely to reply to? Articles you agree with? Ones you disagree with? Serious or funny? What categories catch your attention the most? Is a well written article more likely to draw a response, or one that takes an extreme position?

I think it is the later. True, there are some very well written articles that also take an extreme position and garner a large response. But often it seems to be that unless it is an inflammatory article (or written by one of the real big names) it just won't gather that much of a response.

So I stay away from extreme posts. I reply to articles I find interesting, without regard to the category. I try to skim all the recent articles in every category and then hit the ones with titles that catch my eye or ones written by people I have read before. I also reply to those who I read regularly, even if it is just to say I read and enjoyed what they wrote.

I like to answer questions, so if you ask one I'm likely to answer it. I tend to stay away from the more extreme topics, since they have a great chance of going all flamist, which I don't like. There also has to be room for commenting, some article come across as so complete I wouldn't know what to say as a comment. I'm also likely to respond to people telling about the good/bad in their lives, to either congratulate or offer support.

Anything that I can relate to or I feel that i have something constructive to add. I tend to avoid what I consider flame baits or posts by people who think too highly of themselves or pronoucing themselves as right from the article get-go. I wouldn't respond to anyone who is trying to get rise out of me either.

I don't like to reply to articles that already have a lot of replies because I just am too lazy to read that much

I have never replied and will never reply.

Articles that tweak my curiosity, articles with an interesting headline or humor and any that discuss a topic I'm interested in. I enjoy reading about family life and entertainment too.

Ok, so I have to take the bait and ask lastspectator, why?

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to answer. There's some good food for thought here. It seems that most of you agree that extreme or overly arguementative articles are out? That's fine by me.
